Ecological Solutions and Evidence is an open-access journal from the British Ecological Society publishing work with direct relevance to biodiversity, ecosystem, and species management, and practical solutions to conservation and environmental problems. It accepts diverse formats—research protocols, data articles, short reports, case studies, original research, and reviews—spanning a project's full lifespan. Major themes include conservation biology, global change, pollution, wildlife and habitat management, land use, aquatic resources, restoration ecology, and pest/weed/disease management, across local to global scales. The journal is central to Applied Ecology Resources, encouraging authors to archive related reports and grey literature for long-term preservation and discovery.
Global Ecology and Conservation (GECCO) is an open-access journal covering ecology and conservation biology across terrestrial, marine, and freshwater systems, from molecular to global scales. It prioritizes high-quality papers advancing ecological theory and conservation practice, welcoming submissions from underrepresented regions, species, and authors, including Data Deficient species studies. Thematic special issues emphasizing global relevance and diversity are also published. GECCO excludes papers lacking a strong biological/ecological component (e.g., pollution chemistry, pure toxicology) and requires clear conservation/ecology links for topics like agroecosystems, soil ecology, SDM, or species inventories. Submissions must demonstrate genuine novelty, not just familiar phenomena in new locations.
